As the lead librarian for Bristol's Taunton Library Learning Commons (LLC), the Digital Services and Reference Librarian oversees library operations at Bristol's Taunton Center, including the supervision of student assistants and one part-time library assistant. In collaboration with other LLC staff, the position oversees access services for the location, delivers information literacy instruction, and assists researchers in the use of print/electronic resources. The position also has primary responsibility for maintaining the LLC's web presence, which provides access to library resources and services for all four LLCs. This is a part-time, non-benefitted position which may work up to 18.5 hours per week. Schedule may vary depending on local needs. Some travel to other locations is required. 

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE **Required Qualifications: ** NOTE: Unless otherwise noted, all required qualifications must be met by date of hire • Minimum of a Master's degree in Library Science, Library & Information Science, or closely related field.   • Minimum of two (2) years of experience, training, and/or coursework that includes library operations, library information systems, reference services, bibliographic instruction, and access services. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience shall be considered.  • The ability to work effectively with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff.   • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.   • Reliable transportation to travel to and from meetings, trainings, or campus and community locations, as required.

**Preferred Qualifications:  ** • Experience creating and delivering information literacy instruction in a college setting.   • Experience designing and managing content in SpringShare LibGuides.  • Experience with web design and website management.   • Demonstrated proficiency using course learning management systems, preferably Canvas.  • Demonstrated proficiency using Canva or similar graphical design software.  • Experience using social media for marketing or outreach.  • Ability to communicate in a language in addition to English, preferably Portuguese or Spanish.
