The Deputy Library Director is responsible for assisting the Library Director in all functional activities relating to the management and coordination of library operations, including assuming the duties of the Library Director and Administrative Assistant in their absence.
The Deputy Library Director is a member of the library management team and assists the Library Director with advocacy, public relations, strategic planning, personnel issues, budget, and facility management. This position supervises employees and coordinates programming for the Adult Services Department, as well as serves as coordinator and primary point of contact for library circulation and interlibrary loan operations.
The Deputy Library Director has considerable contact with the public and plays a key role in establishing and solidifying library patron relationships through the provision of outstanding customer service.
Hours: Monday thru Friday, 8:00am-5:00 pm. One (1) evening per week, 11am-8pm and One (1)Saturday per month, 8am-12pm.
Qualifications
Requirements:
Minimum of a Master of Library Science (MLS) degree from an ALA-accredited school required. Prior progressively responsible experience in a related field required with a minimum of 3 years' supervisory experience required. A strong technology background, including previous work with Minerva or other technology consortiums, Innovative Interfaces Sierra, and Tyler Technologies Enterprise ERP (formerly MUNIS) preferred. Any equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered. Pay Scale:
This is a full-time, exempt, non-union position with a comprehensive benefits package including: medical insurance, a pension, and generous paid time off.
