The eligible list generated by this recruitment may be used to fill current and future vacancies throughout San Mateo County Libraries. There are currently multiple vacancies to be filled. Because of the diversity of the communities we serve, bilingual language skills (Mandarin, Cantonese, or Spanish) are strongly preferred.
Community Program & Technology Specialists work in a variety of settings both inside and outside of our libraries to make a difference in our community through creative outreach, exciting programming, and innovative technology for adults, teens, and children. The Community Technology Specialist position is distinguished from the Community Program Specialist position by focusing their work on technology to provide the best STEM- and Maker-related programs, services, and resources to address the digital divide.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is:
Community Program Specialist I: Two years of experience in an organization providing social services which has included responsibility for community service program development such as planning, evaluating, monitoring, or coordinating projects.
Community Program Specialist II: Four years of experience in an organization providing social services which has included responsibility for community service program development such as planning, evaluating, monitoring, or coordinating projects.
