Cook Memorial Public Library is seeking an upbeat, amiable individual  with great customer service skills and a flexible schedule to join the Circulation Department. This permanent, year-round part-time position has shifts at both Aspen Drive and Cook Park Libraries. Multilingual ability welcome.  Cook Memorial Public Library District serves 61,000 residents from two full-service locations:  Aspen Drive Library, 701 Aspen Drive, Vernon Hills, IL, and Cook Park Library, 413 N. Hours:

Averages 15 hours per week and includes a variety of part-time day, evening, and weekend hours.

      Mondays: 1 pm-5 pm

      Wednesdays: 5 pm-9 pm  

      One Friday on a 4-week rotation 10 am - 6 pm

      Two Saturdays and two Sundays on a 4-week rotation averaging 4 - 6 hours

Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Check materials in and out to library patrons

·         Take payment for purchases and lost/damaged materials

·         Register library cards

·         Process reserved materials

·         Greet patrons and answer their questions

Requirements:

·         High school diploma

·         Strong people skills

·         Proficient with computers

·         Detail-oriented with good organizational skills

·         Strength to move library materials, bend, and stand for extended periods

·         Flexibility in filling additional shifts

·         Able to work at both Cook Park and Aspen Drive Libraries

Salary and Benefits:

$16 per hour, 457 savings plan, paid leave, scheduled holiday pay, paid parental leave, premium pay on Sundays. Cost of living and merit increases
