We provide innovative programs and support to enhance the relationship between teaching and learning at the University of North Texas. Libraries Technology and Computer Operations (Lib TACO) provides IT solutions and support for the UNT Libraries. This includes staff workstations and software, student computer lab workstations, printing, esports & gaming, design and maintenance of lab facilities, makerspace initiatives, electronic resources, and things yet to come.

Position Overview
The Business Librarian (12-month full-time appointment) has a strong commitment to service and learning for the students, faculty, and staff of the University as well as the local community. The librarian exercises broad, independent judgment and authority under the direction of the Head of Research Support Services.
The librarian serves as subject librarian to the College of Business (COB) and to the Department of Economics. Liaison duties include providing instruction, research assistance, and collection development services, and the creation and maintenance of subject guides for these disciplines. The librarian will collaborate with the faculty, staff, and students in relevant subject areas to explore the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in research and scholarship and contribute to relevant discipline initiatives.
The Business Librarian demonstrates a commitment to continual professional development through scholarly research, including publications and presentations, and through participation and leadership in service to the library, university, and the profession.
SPECIFIC POSITION RESPONSIBILITIESServes as the subject librarian to the College of Business and the Department of Economics.o Provides specialized research assistance and instruction services, including individual research consultations and innovative library instruction to faculty and students. o Develops web content and library instructional materials, including class and subject guides. o Provides communication, outreach, and business research assistance to faculty and students in the COB and the Department of Economics. o Facilitates collection development in relevant subject areas. o Maintains current knowledge of trends and issues in computer, library, and information science fields and liaison subject areas.
American Library Association accredited master's degree, or equivalent terminal degree
Strong communication skills
Ability to build effective work relationships
Teaching skills leading to effective instruction in information literacy
Commitment to high-quality public service
Analytical skills to aid in use of library information resources, innovation, and decision-making
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in an academic library
Knowledge of or experience with business-related resources
Knowledge of or experience with AI and emerging technologies
Experience in public service work environments
Experience with research methods, copyright, and/or scholarly communications issues
An established record of service and scholarship
