JOB SUMMARY

Library Systems & Services is excited to announce an opening for a full-time Branch Manager at the West Osceola Library in Celebration, Florida. This is a busy branch serving the fast-growing westside of Osceola County. The Branch Manager oversees the daily operations, ensuring excellent customer service, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment, establishing and supporting community connections, and promoting the Library’s mission and priorities.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES

  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with others, both internally and externally Be flexible, versatile, and/or tolerant in a changing work environment Oversee scheduling and performance for branch staff Create a welcoming environment for staff to feel invested and engaged Evaluate library services, resources, and collections for efficiency and effectiveness Develop new and unique ways to improve the operations of the library and create new opportunities. Assess problem situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions, and make recommendations and/or resolve the problem. Work cooperatively to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness. Problem-solve, and assess situations to determine their importance, urgency, and risks, and make clear decisions that are timely and in the best interests of the organization Set priorities, monitor progress toward goals, track details, data, information, and activities, and report accordingly. Create and maintain excellent internal and external relationships with community groups and organizations collaborating with the Library. Work closely with Managers and the Director to plan, implement, and promote the Library’s strategic plan Know, understand, and administer the American Library Association’s Library Bill of Rights, Freedom to Read Statement, and Freedom to View Statement, recognizing that freedom of access is a fundamental tenet of a public library. Understand ethical behavior and business practices, and ensure that own behavior and the behavior of others is consistent with these standards and align with the values of the organization Follow all legal and policy requirements related to patron privacy and custodianship of patron records. Education/Qualifications:

JOB REQUIREMENTS

An individual should possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed and meet the amount of education, training and/or work experience required.

  • MLIS preferred, BA/BS required Two years of progressively responsible managerial/supervisory experience required Experience in a role that requires frequent interaction with patrons or customers and responsibility for addressing and resolving complex issues, questions, and suggestions required Library experience highly desired Experience analyzing and applying reports and data (usage, demographics, trends, etc.) preferred Excellent technology skills, in the use, guidance and troubleshooting of technology

**Physical Requirements: **

Ability to sit for long periods of time and to maintain focus on projects such as computer screens or detailed paperwork. Occasionally lift, push/pull, hold/carry of items weighing up to twenty-five (25) pounds such as files, books, and other materials. This is a full time onsite position.

Pay is : $49,920/year
