**Duties: **Provides reference and readers’ advisory services to library patrons of all ages using library resources in all formats; Communicates the practices and policies of the library to patrons; Participates in collection development, curation, and cataloging;  Analyzes circulation trends and makes recommendations to enhance library collections; Assists patrons and staff with library technology; Coordinates and conducts library programming for all ages; Prepares displays, exhibits, book lists, and blogs; Serves as liaison to schools or other community groups on behalf of the library; Coordinates with database vendors and periodical distributors to provide patrons with electronic information and print materials; Performs circulation functions as needed, including creation of new library cards, checking materials in and out, etc; Supports Town policies and philosophies; Performs related work as required.

Qualifications: Master’s degree in Library Information Science from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited college or university, plus experience in professional library work. Experience with Innovative Interfaces Sierra and BiblioCommons preferred. Proven knowledge of professional library principles, methods, materials and administrative practices.

Demonstrated proficiency in the use of current and emerging technology applications, integrated library system (ILS) collection management tools, e-readers, tablets, smart phones, electronic information systems, social media applications and other downloadable library content. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and library-related software products. Demonstrated knowledge of adult, teen, and children’s literature in all formats. Proven ability to communicate technology concepts to users of varying skill levels. Proven ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with library staff, patrons and community groups. Must be able to bend and reach and lift up to 25 pounds; ability to push library carts holding up to 100 pounds in materials.
